COMMUNITY FOOTBALL SEASON POSTPONED UNTIL 31 MAY, 2020
With the ever changing and worsening nature of COVID-19 (novel corona virus), the AFL Hunter Central Coast released a statement today (AFL HCC Statement) and have taken the action to “postpone” the 2020 season until May 31st to ensure the health and safety of our players, support staff and the wider community.
In line with today’s AFL NSW/ACT Community Football Update all AFL Hunter Central Coast 2020 season activities (Auskick, junior, senior and social competitions) and all related events will be postponed until May 31st 2020. Further details will be provided in the coming days including a detailed information sheet. At this stage the league is unsure of the structure of the season including number of rounds and finals.
From the Hawks club perspective, we will also be cancelling our Season Launch this Saturday night and refunding these tickets. Further information will be release shortly regarding registration and player sponsorships.
Our club supports these measures as necessary given the severity and the alarming spread rate of COVID-19. The club will continue to monitor the situation and keep all members up to date with the latest news so please continue to follow our Facebook page. We will be directly contacting our sponsors to ensure they are abreast of the situation and to discuss plans for the future.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the club President, Damian Charleson, 0409 648650; Vice President Juniors, Shane Williams 0438 283501; or Secretary, Peter Risby on 0419584401.
Be safe and look after yourselves and your family!
