Message from Cardiff Hawks Cub President Damian Charleson

Hi All,

Well we are all living in very uncertain and quickly changing times that will test all of us. The messaging and decisions by the AFL have been very clear and definitive and have given us all a clear understanding of what the season holds. I know that there is planning going on behind the scenes on alternative scenarios both if the season commences after the end of May and if not. This could all change depending on the trajectory of the virus infection across our community. Some more information will be coming out shortly identifying several areas we all need to be prudent in these times.
In positive news, the new scoreboard has been progressing and we now have the footings in place and the steel frame is standing in its place. This is a massive step. We now need to measure and order a roller security door for the front and when this is available we will be able to install the screens which are in storage in Newcastle.
A massive thanks to Ryno’s Asbestos Removal for backing us with this project as the Major Scoreboard Sponsor. If anyone needs asbestos removed or a building demolished, contact Ryan Nolan. They do a great job and I can speak from experience. I would also like to thank past player Tom Quade, our electrician for offering his services to get the wiring in and scoreboard up and running.
I wish you all the best and stay safe and happy. If anyone needs to chat or needs help, please contact any of your committee or other club members. It is in uncertain times that we all need to help each other. My contact details are on the club web site.
