The Cardiff Hawks recently launched their groundbreaking new player welfare initiative “CARDIFFerence” at their 2018 season launch hosted by the Duke of Wellington Hotel.
Possessing a high standard of on-field expectations and recognising an opportunity to provide much more for their people than just a physical and social outlet, the Hawks are striving to be equally as strong off-field via the market-leading program.
With player welfare at the grassroots level becoming increasingly important in participant
s’ overall quality of experience, CARDIFFerence promotes player wellbeing and encourages a safe medium for player conversation by providing an environment built around respect, empowerment, resilience and family.
Through its unique model, CARDIFFerence provides communication channels for players who need to engage in confidential, supportive and non-judgmental conversations, helping anyone that comes into the Hawks family assimilate, seek advice, learn from others’ experiences and feel like they have an ally to turn to if nowhere else in their life. In a coup for players, the program also provides access to their very own Professional Services Network for more specialised needs.
The Hawks recognise the challenges facing high-performing clubs and their responsibility in shaping the standards by which their people behave and contribute to their community, and CARDIFFerence will go a long way to ensuring Cardiff remains the “Family Club”.
